Rise of The Guardians 2 is a 2024 American 3D computer-animated fantasy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. The sequel to the first film, the film is directed by Faryn Pearl and Heidi Jo Gilbert (her feature directorial debut) with Peter Ramsey and Guillermo del Toro as executive producers with a screenplay by David Lindsay-Abaire, based on the book series The Guardians of Childhood and the short film The Man in the Moon by William Joyce. It stars the voices of Chris Pine, Jennifer Lawrence, Alec Baldwin, Jack McBrayer, Isla Fisher, Hugh Jackman, Idris Elba, Ava Max and Anthony Hopkins. The film is set one year after the defeat of Pitch Black, Jack Frost and the Guardians deal with the threat of a ruthless dream pirate named Abyss, all the while, Jack meet and spend time with a teenage girl, Emma Snow.
Premise[]
When an old enemy returns to finish what Pitch started, the Guardians—Jack Frost, Nicholas St. North, E. Aster Bunnymund, Sanderson Mansnoozie, and Toothiana must come together once again. However, Jack defies a centuries-old traditional rule when he befriends Emma Snow, a teenage girl. Their unlikely love reveals the true nature of the Guardians, challenging the very foundations and showing what it means to grow up.
Plot[]
Set one year after the first film, Jack Frost has settled into his new life as a Guardian and is enjoying hanging out with the other Guardians—Nicholas St. North, E. Aster Bunnymund, Sanderson Mansnoozie, and Toothiana. The only downside is that they’ve installed a machine that shoots lights from the globe when children get too old, and they’ve relegated it to the far reaches of the North Pole. After that, Jack is hanging out with Jamie and his friends Claude and Caleb when he spots a 14-year-old girl named Emma Snow.
When he save her from a colliding car, Jack is surprised that she can see him, he try to questions this to North, but North does not answer him his questions, so he hides his personal interest in the girl from North, taking Jamie and his friends on dating, Jack try to impress Emma but it end in disaster, Later on, North gets an "pirate alert." immediately learn that Abyss, an infamous dream pirate who was presumed disappeared after getting banished by Pitch the Bogeyman for his planning to exterminate the children of the world has return.
Meanwhile, taking the advice from Bunnymund, Jack take on teenage interests, like texting, online videos and boy band music in order to impress Emma, along the way, he learned that Emma is a foster child and that her current family own a convenience store, One day, while run the shop with her foster sisters, she becomes overwhelmed by the customers and rushes to the basement where she suffer from a severe panic attack.
Jack calm her down by makes it snow in the basement, following that, the two gradually befriends each other, Tooth and Sandy later discover Abyss's traps in their areas. Abyss visits North and Jack that night, demanding they hand over the last of Pitch's Nightmares sand, but North has prepared an ambush for him. Abyss escapes while his dream pirates and his personal monster burn down the North Pole, noticing Jack's absent-minded behavior, North ask his advisor Buddy the Elf to watch over Jack.
As Jack and Emma spend time together and learn more about each other, Jack poring over the Guardians's existence, at first she doesn't believe him but after meeting Buddy the Elf and Baby Tooth, she is convinced, at Emma's school, Jack meet other older kids including befriend a popular girl Miriam Hawke who catch Jack use his powers. Meanwhile, The Guardians suspects that Jack is seeing someone so they questions Buddy but he lie to them about how Jack is spending his time.
Miriam ask Jack to use his powers to raise money for the school dance, upon discovering that Emma has a desire to join a hockey team at her school, Jack take her to the North Pole in secret, where Jack learned that the Guardians once had the ability called inner light, which from memories and feelings from Children's beliefs, both old and young, after meeting the guardians, Emma goads Jack into piloting North's sleigh, On ride, Jack then realizes that he does not want to be a Guardian and admitting to Emma that has feelings for her.
When North find them, he become angry and intentionally reveals that the Guardians are immortal by cutting his throat in front of Emma, On a scouting patrol, the other Guardians notices Abyss's dream pirate army and reports back. Shortly after, Emma finds out that Jack is immortal too and remembers her social worker, Mrs. Andersen has found her another family out of state, breaks up with Jack.
Upon discovering Jack's actions, North destroys Emma's childhood book, The Red Lady, In retaliation, Jack runs away from the North Pole and head to the school dance, At the dance, Jack reconcile with Emma and share a dance with her, but unbeknownst to him, Abyss has been watching him and soon he attacks him and the Guardians at the dance, during this, Abyss injures Emma, Horrified and enrage, Jack attacks Abyss with his full powers, before the Guardians calm him down as Abyss escapes.
The Guardians bring Emma to the Man in the Moon. He heals Emma by taking away her memories of Jack. Jack discovers that Man in the Moon isn't the one who instated the rule, its was North, Jack confronts North, and he reveals that in the past, he fall in love with a woman named Ariana who was killed by Abyss and Pitch, After this, North declared the separation of the Guardians from Humanity in order to prevent any similar incidents from happening again.
While cleaning, Buddy and Bunny videos Jack recorded of himself and Emma, a grief-stricken Jack confesses to them that he does not want to be a Guardian and expresses his love for Emma.
Soon after, Abyss kidnaps Emma; this is witnessed by Baby Tooth, who subsequently informs the others of the situation, it's later revealed that has kidnapped most of North's Yetis and Elves and used the Nightmares sand to mutate them into indestructible beasts, intent on using them to take the children of the world.
As one of them tried to breaks into the North Pole and attacks Jack and North. They lure him, where Sandy reverse The mutation, Though still angry of North's actions, He and the others infiltrates Abyss's fortress but fall into his trap and barely escape with Abyss kill The Man in the Moon, With The Man in the Moon dead, the moon disappeared along drastically weakening the Guardians, allowing Abyss and his army to overrun the world.
After an repentant North apologizes to Jack, Jack restores Emma's belief and memories of him by showing her book and then sets out with the Guardians to stop Abyss and his army, with the help of the surviving Yetis and Elves and the friends from High school, leading to new belief that bolsters the Guardians then ever before and Sandy cured the mutated Yetis and Elves in the process. Abyss, distraught, threatens to turn Emma and Jamie into monsters, but North save them as Jack realizes that Abyss's personal monster is hesitates in killing him. Jack sees the monster wearing a necklace with a eclipse charm on it similar to Abyss's, and cuts it off, breaking the curse, and restoring the monster to its true form: Ariana.
This distracting North to overpowers him, To save the others, the Guardians grabs Abyss, banishing them to the Man in the Moon's Realm on the moon. Enraged, Abyss furiously attacks the Guardians and begins turn them into monsters. on Earth, Buddy and Emma led everyone to the far reaches of the North Pole on a mountain of older children deposited by North's mechanism, They cause an avalanche of lights where both old and young collide, giving them the power of inner light. Empowered and rejuvenated, the Guardians overpower Abyss, destroying him.
This unleashes a shockwave that spreads throughout the world, vanquishing Abyss's dream pirates and conjuring up a magical rainstorm that restores everyone, where the Lunar Moths and Glowworms who later revive the Man in the Moon.
After the battle, North realizes that the separation of the Guardians from humanity is a mistake and realizing that Jack truly loves Emma and approves their relationship, Jack decides to become human again to be with Emma, so the Man in the Moon turned him back into a human.
Some time later, Mrs. Andersen and her husband decide to adopt her, allowing her to stay in the state and try out for the hockey team. Jack, now going by the name "Jackson Overland" stays with Jamie's family and go to High School, and the Guardians watch over a new globe that is filled with lights from children of all ages.

- Jack McBrayer as Buddy the Elf: the leader of the Christmas Elves and North's second in command and confidant, he is inspired by the main character from Elf.
- Idris Elba as Abyss: a former ally of Pitch Black who seeks to obtain children's belief by killing them or turn them into monsters.
- Isla Fisher as Toothiana: the Guardian of Memories. Tooth is part human and part hummingbird, loosely resembling a Kinnari. Assisted by mini fairies that are split-off extensions of herself, she collects the children's teeth, which hold their most precious memories. Tooth stores them in her palace and returns memories when they are needed the most.
- Hugh Jackman as E. Aster Bunnymund: called Bunny for short, the keeper and bringer of Easter eggs and Guardian of Hope. He shares Jackman's Australian accent.
- Sandman: is the Guardian of Dreams and the oldest of the Guardians, being the first Guardian chosen by the Man in the Moon. He doesn't speak, but communicates through sand images that he conjures above his head.
- Anthony Hopkins as The Man in the Moon: is the very first Guardian who lives on the moon and protects the dreams of all children.
- Ava Max as Miriam Hawke: A singing popular high school girl who is trying to get money for her school dance.
- Mike Conner as Jamie Bennett: a child who has not given up on believing in the Guardians. Conner replaces Dakota Goyo from the first film.
- Zharvis Henry as Claude: is Caleb's twin brother and a friends of Jamie Bennett. He's a believer of the Guardians. Henry replaces Kamil McFadden from the first film.
- Eliyah Harper as Caleb: is a friend of Jamie Bennett and also the twin brother of Claude. He was a believer like his brother. Harper replaces Khamani Griffin from the first film.
- Yvette Nicole Brown as Coach Deliana Phillips: A teacher at Emma's high School.
- Rim Won-Shik as Raven Park, an energetic and aggressive Korean girl who is Emma's older foster sister.
- Ca Sun-Hee as Azalea Park, A Korean girl who is Raven's sister and Emma's foster sister.
