Gamera
This is the first film to feature Gamera in the Monsterverse. The film also features Garasharp and a new Kaiju named "Ahuizotl" for the Monsterverse. It has the same tone as Gamera Guardian of the Universe.
Story/Script[]
- The movie begins on an island somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, where a volcano begins to erupt. As the volcano erupts, inside the cave lies a temple, where an unknown creature is buried in rubble. The scene shows a close up of the creature's closed eye. Suddenly the eye opens. The scene then shows the movie title.
- The eye scene zooms out to reveal a pet turtle of a ten-year-old boy named Jim Marcus, who has a fascination with reptiles. He also has YouTube accounts where he talks about reptiles, even one about why dinosaur are truly reptiles and why dinosaurs are not related to birds (and no, Jim Marcus is not a creationist), and another video about particular reptiles that inspire legends of mythical creatures and cryptids. Jim gets ready for a school fieldtrip that's happening in two days.
- At an unknown location in Canada, a lab is being attack by an unknown and unseen Kaiju. Also, a few people in strange outfits captured the survivors of the attack.
- Up on the sky an airplane with passengers in it almost ran into what it looks like a UFO like object. The flying object enters the mouth of a volcano somewhere in California.
- Meanwhile at the island from the opening of the movie, a group is scientist are examining the temple inside the cave, led by an archeologist named Jack Albert, who identifies the structure as Atlantean. Another person examining the area is Ling Chen (the sister of Doctor Ilene Chen) about the paintings on the temple wall showing pictures of the Atlanteans having a guardian kaiju who they call Gamera. One of the paintings of Gamera's shell surrounded by flames baffles her because she doesn't understand what it means. After finishing examining the ruins, Jack, Ling, and the other Monarch members returned to one of the Monarch secret bases by helicopters.
- A serpent-like creature starts surfacing from the ocean and heads towards the California shoreline. At a Monarch secret base in California both Jack and Ling get a notification form the monitor screen about the serpent like kaiju reaching the California shoreline. Ling recognizes the creature as Garasharp, but notices that this Garasharp is acting weird but also the horns on its head that are different from the usual horns that Male Garasharps are supposed to have. Jack orders one of the head Monarch soldiers to evacuate as many civilians as possible from Garasharp's attack. Jack notices a group of school kids are close to the area where Garasharp is appearing, and that his nephew Jim is in that group of school kids. Jack orders some Monarch agents to evacuate the school kids that Jim is with. As Garasharp attacks the city, Monarch soldiers use hi-tech weapons against Garasharp, while other Monarch soldiers do their best to take the citizens to safety. A few Monarch soldiers help lead a group of school kids (that Jim is in) to one of the Monarch shelters but struggle due Garasharp's rampage.
- Near the city a hill of some kind starts to erupt with lava coming out of it. A giant hand comes out of the ground. Shortly after a giant head slowly comes out of the ground with lava covering its head. Garasharp starts to notice the unknown kaiju. Both Jack and Ling have noticed the unknown kaiju from the air drones. Ling recognize the unknown kaiju as the same one from the paintings in the Atlantean ruins called Gamera. Garasharp roars at Gamera. Gamera roars back at Garasharp. Garasharp slithers towards Gamera. While Gamera crawls out of the ground on all four. While being taken to the shelter, Jim can see the two Kaiju battling out and has hope that Gamera could win the fight because of his knowledge of reptiles. As the battle between the two kaiju brings them to the city, Gamera starts to slowly stand on two legs and gets the upper hand against Garasharp. Garasharp is forced to retreat. Gamera goes down on all fours and retreats into his shell. Four jets of flames come out of Gamera's shell. Gamera's shell starts floating up in the air and starts spinning as Gamera leaves the city. Ling remembers the painting of Gamera's shell surrounded by fire and realizes that the painting was showing Gamera Flying in a saucer like form.
- All the school kids have arrived at the Monarch shelter, where Jack arrive to meet up with Jim, which Jim recognize his uncle Jack. Jack hugs Jim, thanking God for Jim to be alive and well. After Jim convince Jack to take him to one of the Monarch secret bases, Jack lets Jim come to the Monarch secret laboratory. As they arrived at the Monarch Laboratory, Jack, Ling, and a few other Monarch members discuses about Gamera and Garasharp. Jim points out that the Garasharp who Gamera was fighting is a female, due to noticing certain other parts that the female Garasharps have. Suddenly one of the Monarch members comes and tells both Jack and Ling about where the Garasharp is heading. Jack, Ling, and a few other Monarch members go by helicopter to find out where the Garasharp is heading. Jim sneaks arbored the helicopter that Jack and Ling are riding on.
- As the helicopter lands on an island of some kind where Garasharp is located and everyone gets out the helicoptor, they get captured by unknown soldiers. But Jim wasn't captured by the unknown soldiers because he was hiding in the storage. The unknown soldiers take Jack, Ling, and the others to their hidden base. While the others are taken to the prison, Jack and Ling are introduce to the main antagonist Bathory MacCarthy (who was a former biologist and worked with Monarch some time ago).
- Jim was able to sneak into the hidden base by going through the air ducts. He comes across on of the rooms where he finds out that Garasharp was given horns on her head due to experimentation. Jim starts feeling sorry for Garasharp and decides to free her. He was able to trick the scientist into leaving the room. Jim then gets in the room and frees Garasharp. Garasharp caused so much destruction to the hidden base, that it not only gives Jack, Ling, and the last surviving Monarch members to escape, but it also caused Ahuizotl (the kaiju who attacked the lab in Canada) to escape.
- Jim reunites with Jack and Ling during the battle between Garasharp and Ahuizotl. Jack tells Jim that his parents will ground him for a year. Ling tells Jack and Jim that there's no time for family drama, as the three of them and the surviving Monarch members escape the building.
- Ahuizotl starts getting the upper hand against Garasharp. Until Gamera appears all of a sudden, forces Ahuizotl to fight Gamera. During the battle, Garasharp gets back up and stabs Ahuizotl with her horns. Ahuizotl breaks Garasharp's horns completely off her head. She then uses her tail hand to grab Gamera, as she turns her attention on Garasharp. Suddenly, Gamera's stomach starts glowing. Gamera then uses a fire stream to cut off Ahuizotl tail off. Ahuizotl starts roaring in pain. Garasharp starts coiling around Ahuizotl, giving Gamera the chance to use his fire stream to burn away Ahuizotl's head off. Ahuizotl's lifeless body falls down onto the ground. Both Gamera and Garasharp roar in triumph. The two of them then start staring at each other. Garasharp move her gaze towards where Bathory MacCarthy is at. Garasharp starts heading towards where Bathory MacCarthy is at. Bathory MacCarthy does her best to run away. But Garasharp was able to catch up with her and uses her tougue to catch her, eating her alive. She then looks at Gamera, just before slithers away to the ocean. Gamera starts flying away.
- Ling, Jack, the remaining Monarch members took Jim back to his parents at his home.
