Holes is upcoming American computer-animated comedy-adventure film. The film is directed by Henry Selick and produced by Sue Bea Montgomery, based on his novel of the same name, originally published in August 1998. It stars the voice talents of Sam Rockwell, Jason Pennycooke, Willie Nelson, Carolina Herrera, Kate McKinnon, Grant George, Aislinn Derbez, Nicholas Galitzine, Richard Ayoade, Gary Anthony, J.K. Simmons, Bill Pullman and Trey Parker.

The film was produced by BRON Studios and Laika Studios.

On TBA, Lionsgate announced that they would reboot the Holes film series with an animated film, then being written by "?". ON, TBA, Henry Selick, who had previously worked on several Holes projects, was hired to direct the animated film, now with a script by Temple Grandin. Sue Bea Montgomery produced the film.

Animation services were provided by Cinesite Animation Studios, who also produced the animation for the 2000s stop-motion-animated Coraline theatrical film that Henry Selick directed.

Released[]

Holes was originally scheduled to be released on March 31, 2023. But that scheduled changes to be released on TBA due to the RAGED-22 pandemic. The film was later removed from the release schedule in March, though the film was still set to be released later in 2023 at the time of the film's removal.

In an interview with Fandango in TBA. Temple Grandin hinted at the idea of a sequel stating he had ideas for one and that there are "some folks who are excited about that idea".
