Godzilla: Age of Monsters is a 2027 computer-animated monster film directed by Jared Stern. Produced by Warner Animation Group and Toho Animation and
distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and Toho Co., Ltd, it is the 40th film in the Godzilla franchise, the 4th Godzilla film to be animated (after the Godzilla anime trilogy) and the seventh Godzilla film to be completely produced by an American film studio. It is set in a new, separate continuity, and not the MonsterVerse by Legendary. The film features the voices of Nicolas Cage, Ralph Fiennes, Ken Watanabe, Jackie Chan, etc. In the film, Steve Martin, a reporter and government scientist, witnesses the conflict between Mankind and Godzilla and his kaiju brethren as King Ghidorah awakens.
Warner Bros. Pictures announced Age of Monsters in June 2024, with Stern directing, Michael Dougherty producing and Dave Callaham writing. The film's style and animation was influenced by Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018) and Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (2023).
Godzilla: Age of Monsters was theatrically released on November 3, 2027 to positive reviews, who praised the animation style, voice acting and plot. The film was a success at the box office, grossing $490 million, nearly as much as Godzilla B.C. a year earlier. Despite it's success, a sequel is yet to be announced.
