Nintendo Cinematic Multiverse

The Nintendo Cinematic Multiverse (NCM) (Japanese: 任天堂シネマティックビッグユニバース, Hepburn: Nintendō shinematikkubigguyunibāsu - Nintendo Cinematic Big Universe (NCBU)) is a Japanese-American media franchise and shared multiverse centered on a series of video game-based films produced by Illumination, Moonlight, and Nintendo Stars, and distributed by Universal Pictures. The films are based on characters that appear in Japanese video games published by Nintendo. The shared multiverse was established to cross over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters within Super Smash Bros. installments.
